I can find very little evidence of a pencilled under-drawing. The artwork is approximately 7 x 8.5, drawn on a larger 9 x 12 page of medium bond paper.
It may have been bladed-out form a larger sketchbook. Or possibly commissioned, at a convention or a store signing appearance? Hard to say. From an art collecting standpoint, the only downside (in my opinion) to this piece. Is that it has already been signed for glenn, in close proximity to the artwork. It didn't stop me from buying the illo. And i hope it doesn't pervent you, from bidding on it! But unless your name is (in fact) glenn. You may want to do some creative matting around the signature, if you plan to showcase it in a proper frame.It would certainly still make a handsome wallhanging, for any xenzooic tales fan! And is a great example of mark schultz' flair for penwork, from back in the day!
